Slumber Party is the first episode of My Little Pony Tales. It is written by George Arthur Bloom

As the title suggests, the story follows the core 7 as they have a slumber party at Sweethearts house.

Summary[]

The Core 7 are at Sweetheart's house for a slumber party. The episode starts with them playing charades, with Clover being the actor. After finishing with their game, Sweetheart's Dad suggests to the group to get ice cream sundaes. Lighting cackles frightening the group, causing Patch to suggest the idea of it being ghosts. Sweetheart's Dad tells her there's no such thing as ghosts. Sweetheart's Mom sends them to bed after they finish their ice cream.

Sweetheart’s Room[]

In Sweetheart’s room, everyone is seen laying down while Bright Eyes mimics their teacher with a puppet in her hand. A pillow fight ensues and Sweetheart's Mom has to come in to stop it. The girls continue to have a hard time sleeping because of the storm. Patch calls it “the perfect storm for a ghost story,” and even after some rebuttal from the rest of the girls, Patch tells them a story, right after they build a blanket fort.

Squire’s Tale[]

Patch recalls the story of Squire: A pony who lived just beyond paradise lake. Squire is described to be about as old as the core 7, with the dream of being a knight. In the story, Squire’s father tells him he needs to tame the dragon named Basil  to become a knight, so he sets off to do just that.

As he makes his way to the cave where the dragon lay, a serpent tries to stop him by winding around his neck. Squire scares it off by sticking his tongue out at the serpent.

Squire finds Basil's cave and goes looking for it. Fire comes from one of the tunnels, which Squire uses to light a torch that was left from someone before him. He confronts Basil but never gets the chance to “tame” him because of a hole basil burnt into the ground.

Back to Sweetheart’s Room[]

As Patch finishes the story, the rest of the girls laugh at the ridiculousness of it. A creaking is heard coming from upstairs, Patch follows the sound upstairs and the rest of the girls follow. In the attic, the lights are out and the girls cant make anything out in it, causing Patch to sing "Things Are Not Always What They Seem"

The cause of the racket is found to be Sweetheart’s cat, Springfield. Everyone is relieved aside from Patch who is disappointed it wasn’t a ghost.

As everyone is sleeping, Squire appears to Patch in a ghost-like state. He tells her how grateful he is for telling his story. After being asked who she was

taking to by Starlight, she responds by saying "it was just a dream, or maybe it wasn't."
